Copy Wii Games Easily
With the aid of some specially engineered software, you will never puzzle over how to copy Wii games again.
Nintendo had a big budget when it came to designing the encryption technology that protects their game discs, but now some clever companies have produced the software that you need to copy these games.
Having the facility to burn and play copied games, without modifying the hardware of your machine has been long awaited and now, with no technical knowledge at all, we can successfully copy Wii games.
Everyone is tired of having games returned from friends in poor condition, or those who don’t ever return your games. Add this to the frustration of further damage or loss of games and your dollars are just going to waste.
So imagine when you can copy all your games and have them as burned discs or even USB backups, all of this suddenly comes to and end. Your gaming library starts to grow at a rapid rate.
The process to copy Wii Games:
1. Download the software called Easy Backup Wizard (see below) and install to PC or Mac
2. Insert the Wii game disc into your disc drive
3. Copy the game to your hard drive with Easy Backup Wizard
4. Insert a blank DVD into your drive (you must have a DVD burner)
5. Use your regular burning software to burn the backup to DVD
6. Make sure you choose the .iso setting when burning the data
7. Complete the easy Wii “softmod” process (instructions with software)
Once all the above steps are completed, you will be able to play your copied Wii games. The two biggest mistakes that people make is not selecting .iso when they burn their new copies – all the good burning applications have this option, usually when you select to burn data, it can be specified.
Both the recommended programs, as below, have detailed instructions on how you can easily prepare your Wii to play copies discs.
The Best Software To Copy Wii Games
Although there are now numerous programs that will copy the protected content of Wii game discs, it is widely known that many are still disappointing users for a variety of reasons.
As such, we highly recommend engaging one of the two programs as below. These two applications possess close similarities in their features and operation. Although the Easy Backup Wizard website is simple, the software is equally as powerful.
It is these free downloads that leads most users to Easy Backup Wizard, however, when it comes the ripping the Wii game disc and installing the mod patches, they are equally capable.
Easy Backup Wizard

Compatible With: Mac and PC
Price: $29.95
Easy Backup Wizard is the most simple to use game copying program on the market. Their instructions and support (although you won’t need it) are second to none.
It can not only be used with Wii games, but a range of further console games including: PSP, PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, Gamboy and more.
Originally only made for PC, there is now a Mac version so no one has to miss out.
Notable Features Include:
- Can be downloaded immediately
- Instructions for use and console preparation
- No console hardware modification needed
- Creates flawless copies of all games
- Compatible with both PC and Mac systems
Remember that this program is for copying the content only – you need to utilize your own burning software if you wish to burn a new copy. Your program should have an option to burn .iso images and you do need a DVD burner to make a copied Wii game.
Copy Any Game
Homepage: http://www.copyanygame.com
Price: $29.95
This program is new to the market, though its popularity has exploded. It is believed that the main reasons for this are the level of detail in their instructions and unrivalled customer support.
In light of the above, this software does do all the same things as GameCopyPro, though there are not any free downloads for movies in the members area.
Both these programs let you run the copied games from external hard drives, so you don’t really even need to actually make any burned copies at all.
The button below will take you to the official Copy Any Games website.

Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles
Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles is a direct follow up from Umbrella Chronicles and much like its predecessor, it’s an adrenaline fuelled on-rails shooter that incorporates lots of Resident Evil elements. You’ll find Darkside Chronicles to be very much like House of the Dead: Overkill, only three times as hard – which is no doubt a good thing! The game mainly focuses on flashbacks, one minute you are thrown back in time to the events of Resident Evil 2 and then the next you are blowing the heads off those yellow zombies in Code Veronica! It’s got guns, it’s got girls and it’s got monsters – what more could you possibly want from a horror survival game?
In The Game:
In this game your Wiimote will double up as your very own gun, although you can choose to spice things up by using the Wii Zapper if you really want to! The game will always follow two characters no matter which scenario you decide to play. Out of the two characters available, you will be able to select which one you want to play as.
The games main selling point is obviously the fact that it gives you a first person perspective on the nightmarish world of Resident Evil. They’ll be no hiding around a corner and sniping in this game, instead you’re faced with hordes of flesh eating zombies, fish, birds and anything that moves! Thankfully, as there are two characters introduced in each scenario, you can of course play through the game with a friend! Each of you will have your own set of weapons to defend yourselves with and wreak havoc upon those menacing undead fiends. Unfortunately playing with someone who’s got an itchy trigger finger will cost you dearly as ammunition is shared between you. This is can be viewed as a good thing as it adds to realism to the game, but it can also be a nightmare as you’ll soon die without enough ammo. Fortunately you’re saved by the unlimited ammo in your pistols – but try beating the last boss with just a pistol!
Lacking Features:
Despite the game being just another on-rails shooter, it does offer quite a bit of replay. You’re able to go through each of the levels with different characters and even attempt to squeeze yourself into the online leaderboards – though this is no easy task. There are also various things to unlock, such as the infamous tofu survival mode. Sure, the game isn’t jam packed with extra features, but that doesn’t take away how incredibly awesome it is!
Crisp Looks:
Within five minutes of playing this game you will easily realize that it is the graphics that mainly count towards why you love it so much more than Umbrella Chronicles. The in-game graphics are crisp and clean and made better with extremely impressive lighting effects and gorgeous environments. The cut-scenes are out of this world and they really push the Wii to its limits, allowing you to become more engrossed in the game and appreciate the incredible monster designs.
Negatives:
Anyone who has ever played this game will instantly agree that the shaky Cloverfield camera makes it almost impossible to aim sometimes. Though it’s probably used to add some sort of realism to the game, it does become quite frustrating and hinders the gameplay slightly. Aside from the shaky camera – it’s perfect!
What’s The Verdict?
Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles is an absolutely fantastic on-rails shooter that any die hard Resident Evil or House of the Dead fan can appreciate. The games stunning visuals easily absorb you into its dark and gruesome atmosphere, whilst the first person view keeps you on your toes. Whether you’re after a decent shooter to put your video game marksmanship skills to the test, you’re an avid Resident Evil fan looking for a challenge, or you just want to stare at Claire Redfield’s butt, all is made possible with Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles!
Read MoreSonic Fans Need The Secret Rings
Sonic The Hedgehog sprung into action on the Nintendo Wii in 2007 with the fantastic Sonic and the Secret Rings. It’s certainly not your average Sonic game but remains impressive and utilizes the Wii’s unique abilities quite well.
Story
The fantastic thing about Sonic and the Secret Rings is that its story is unique and is a nice change from your typical Sonic stories. The game takes place after our beloved blue hedgehog falls asleep, only to be awoken by a mysterious genie named Shahara who pleads for Sonic’s help. Shahara explains to Sonic that the evil tyrant Erazor Djinn plans to eradicate the stories of Arabian Knights which will ultimately allow him to leave his world and enter our existing world – which obviously can’t be a good thing! Like the true hero he is, Sonic ventures into Shahara’s world to stop this bringer of doom. Unfortunately, Sonic is then struck in the chest with a flaming arrow that was meant for Shahara. Erazor Djinn then tells Sonic that if he does not bring him all seven “world rings” then basically it’s the end of our blue hero – oh no! So the quest for the secret rings begins.
Gameplay
Once again, Sega doesn’t fail to impress! Despite not being able to move around freely throughout the stage like your typical 3D Sonic, the game still manages to keep you on your toes. The game uses a slight on-rails feature and the only actions you control are moving side to side, jumping, attacking and making use of the objects around. Even though this may sound a little odd when comparing it to other Sonic games out there, the high speed of the level guarantees to keep you on the edge of your seat throughout its entirety.
The gameplay is also spiced up by achieving new abilities which Sonic will be able to use during each stage. Your abilities will depend on the skill ring you assign Sonic with and are essential to finishing the game in one piece.
Warning! Sonic won’t have the ability to use the light speed dash! Don’t worry yourself though as he’s given the equivalent skill known as speed break. Sonic will also be equipped with the time break ability which as you guessed, slows down time. A helpful little trick when you’re faced with an impossible situation.
Features
To be honest, Sonic and the Secret Rings isn’t the largest Sonic game out there. Boasting only seven different worlds, you’ll find yourself finishing the game in no time. However, like all Sonic games, it’s the extra bonus challenges which make the game so fantastic! Each of the seven worlds will have a variety of different missions which you can unlock. From simply reaching the end of level in one piece, to being tasked to destroy a certain number of enemies, there is enough variation to keep you playing.
As well as single player Adventure Mode, there is also Party Mode. This allows up to four people to compete in a selection of challenges which really test the wiimotes pointer sensitivity. Party Mode is brilliant as it allows just about anyone to join in the fun, regardless of whether they like typical Sonic games or not!
Of course all of that action packed adventuring is bound to work up a sweat. So to give you a little break from kicking all that butt, Sega incorporated a gallery option which let’s you just relax and watch unlocked in-game movies, listen to stage music and browse through the beautiful Sonic concept art – Ahh! It’s like Sonic Jam all over again.
Graphics
Sonic and the Secret Rings has some of the best graphics you will ever come across on the Nintendo Wii. Each stage is blessed with incredible detail, texturing and a luscious background. CGI cut scenes are also just as good and can even rival the skills that Pixar boast.
Sound
Following in the same path as the previous Sonic Adventure titles, Sonic and the Secret Rings boasts an impressive rock based soundtrack full of hard riffs to really get the adrenaline flowing. Unlike other Sonic titles out there, Crush 40 didn’t contribute to the impressive soundtrack, nevertheless the music is absolutely awesome and fits well inside the game! Voice acting was performed by the cast of Sonic X and although it can be quite difficult to find a pleasing voice for Sonic, the actor played it well. Unfortunately Shahara can become quite a nuisance when she’s constantly yapping at you throughout an entire stage, but this is easily forgiven due to the voice talents that fit nicely to the character.
Downsides
The only real gripe anyone could possibly have with this incredible game is the laborious training levels that are compulsory. Sure, they’re handy at first, but they can become a little tedious when all you want to do is push through the game!
Overall Verdict
Sure, Sonic and the Secret Rings doesn’t really compare to the sheer masterpiece that was Sonic Adventure 2, nevertheless it’s far better than most 3D Sonics released today. Gorgeous visuals, super sonic speed and unique gameplay make this game a must-have game for any Sonic the Hedgehog fan out there.
Read MoreCare Tips For Your Wii
Much like any other console you own, Nintendo Wii’s aren’t indestructible and if they’re not cared for properly, they won’t last as long as you’d like them too. Of course most of the console caring comes from common sense – for example, do not put in direct sunlight, do not set it up in the bathroom and definitely don’t smash it up with a hammer! But you knew that already and if you didn’t, well you probably shouldn’t play video games! For a more in-depth way into taking care of your Nintendo Wii, just follow these handy little tips:
Remove your disc when not in use:
Yes, I know it can be a pain to go fishing out for the case, but there is a reason why this tip is stated clearly in the instruction manual. Most people, who own a Nintendo Wii, aren’t the only people who play on it – after all, it is a family orientated console. So this tip is not only to protect your games from being left out on the side, but also to stop someone else from forcing another game inside the console when there is already one in place. Believe it or not, this tip becomes more like a habit after doing it a few times.
Turn the Nintendo Wii off when it’s not in use:
Not only will this save you from a hefty electricity bill, but it’ll prevent your Wii from over-heating. I know how tempting it can be to just leave your game on pause whilst you venture out for the day, but is it really worth risking your Wii’s life over a high score? Remember to make sure you keep the power button held down for a few seconds when turning it off so you don’t just leave it on sleep mode.
Show that dust who’s boss!
Dust is perhaps a consoles worst nightmare. Once the dust builds up inside your Wii, it won’t be long before it stops functioning the way you want it to! Simply give each port a wipe down every few weeks and your Wii will stay in tip top condition for years to come – and will stay looking pretty too!
Always wear the strap connected to your Wiimote:
Gone are the days of the flimsy cheap wrist straps that always broke, Nintendo are now keen on keeping both you and your television safe! By wearing the Wiimote’s wrist straps, you prevent the Wiimote from accidentally flying out of your hands and crashing into that gorgeous LCD television that cost you $700. People always think it won’t happen to them, but remember – it’s better to be safe than sorry!
Cool it!
I know how frustrating it is when a glitchy camera angle causes you to rage like the Incredible Hulk, but please – don’t take it on your poor old Nintendo Wii. Relax, take a deep breath and remember that it is just a game.
Of course most of this is probably obvious to those of you who are always whipping out the old feather duster and giving your Wii a bit of a make over, but it’s easy to forget. When you first get your console you want to keep it hidden away from all the dangers of the world, but as the months go by that caring tends to fade and that pesky dust starts to build. Just remember, a Nintendo Wii is for life, not just for Christmas!

Read MoreNintendo Wii’s 007: GoldenEye – Review
Anyone who has previously owned a Nintendo64 will have surely experienced the thrills and excitement that GoldenEye produced. Well, if you happened to miss out, don’t worry yourself as it has been re-made on the Nintendo Wii for all of you to enjoy! Even if you know how to copy Wii games, we suggest buying this one in it’s original form. This is the return of GoldenEye and worthy of your money, not simply just another cash-in by Nintendo? Let’s find out why we think this…
Story
The game manages to keep the original plot of GoldenEye whilst re-writing it in a way to bring it up to date and suit our lovely Bond of today – Daniel Craig! The story is predominantly told from James Bond’s point of view and therefore characters from the movie feel a little less significant since they’re less developed. Nevertheless the story is just what you would expect and is absolutely fabulous!
Gameplay
Take your regular old N64 GoldenEye and jazz it up with modern day first person shooter mechanics and features and you’ve basically got yourself Wii’s version of GoldenEye! You’ll not only be able to sprint and aim down your sights, but you’ll also be able to hack terminals and send data to MI6 using a smart-phone – can you see the modernization!? There is also a large amount of stealth incorporated into the gameplay – because let’s face it, Bond survives mainly due to his stealth techniques. Another fun element which has been added to the game is the use of quick time events. You’ll need fast reaction timing as well as Bond styled stealth to survive this game!
Features
The campaign mode is comprised of six missions, each of which has several different sections. You can choose to go through campaign mode on the walk in the park easy mode or crank things up to 007 mode for a challenge. If you truly think you’re the man with the golden gun then you can even go through the game on the classic 007 difficulty! This difficulty completely abandons the regenerative health perk and swaps it with the good old health and armor mechanic from the original GoldenEye.
Multiplayer has of course changed since the days of the Nintendo64 and you can now play online with up to eight different players. There is also a huge selection of game modes available and a relatively good choice of maps. By far the best mode is GoldenEye mode, which has opposing teams trying to hack the GoldenEye satellite and rain hell on the opposing base! The XP progression is also a neat addition to the game and will allow you to unlock weapons and even create your own weapon loadouts.
Graphics
The game is certainly a step up from the original and is visually impressive. It might not be quite on the same scale as Battlefield or Call of Duty, but thorough design and beautiful weather effects make it a very eye pleasing game. The motion captured cutscenes really help absorb you into the game’s plot and you’ll often feel like you’re playing through a movie – which is essentially what you are doing!
Sound
It’s a Bond game so the soundtrack was expected to be brilliant. Hints of orchestral tracks and dashes of stealthy ambient music combined with the main Bond theme beef the games scoring up and help add tension to the atmosphere.
Voice acting features the likes of Bond himself Daniel Craig, as well as Judi Dench who of course voices M. Unfortunately Sean Bean didn’t voice Alec, nevertheless the voice actor did a solid job of portraying him.
Downsides
Despite the online multiplayer being relatively lag free, you can expect the odd glitch here and there, as well as sessions inconveniently ending without notice. You can also expect a few cheap deaths to occur throughout campaign mode due to an overwhelming amount of enemies that appear on-screen at once! Aside from these slight downsides, 007: GoldenEye is an extremely fun, tactical and addictive experience.
Overall
It goes without saying that 007: Goldeneye is the Nintendo Wii’s finest first person shooter to date and won’t be outdone anytime soon. Both visuals and voice acting is spectacular and there are plenty of features to keep you engaged for weeks if not months. If you own a Nintendo Wii then what are you waiting for, buy it!
